UK publisher Korero Press announced on June 18, 2026, the upcoming release of a comprehensive history of The Monster Times, titled The Monster Times: Revisiting a Legend. A tome put together by Cole Ferry, and genre legend Nancy Naglin, wife of The Monster Times editor Joe Kane, and publisher of The Phantom of the Movies VideoScope: The Ultimate Genre Film Guide Magazine.

Korero Press has indicated an October 2026 print release of what promises to be a massive covering of the entire history of the gritty newsprint tabloid, as brief as it was, from ’72 to ’76. The book’s press release details:

During its 48-issue run from 1972 to 1976, The Monster Times became a cult phenomenon – blending monster lore, film commentary, irreverent editorial voice,
and bold graphic design. The new book explores the tabloid’s cultural impact, from its
influence on film and comics to its lasting legacy in monster fandom.
Packed with exclusive interviews and commentary from original contributors,
filmmakers, and artists, The Monster Times: Revisiting a Legend offers a vibrant
tribute to the offbeat creativity that made the paper a fan favourite
.”

The Monster Times has consistently been lauded over the last fifty+ years as a huge inspiration for aspiring genre writers and filmmakers alike. Its 48-issue run has been available via the internet Vis-à-vis digital scans by fans who still hold on to their treasured copies, but this book from Korero Press is promising an all-encompassing experience, by including interviews with original writers and artists, reproductions of all forty-eight covers, and the participation of Nancy Naglin, who was right there with her husband Joe Kane, at the height of the tabloid’s popularity, This release is something every studious film geek, late comer, or curious fan of The Monster Times could not see coming, but will need in their lives!

Both authors of the book are booked to appear at the Chiller Theatre convention, October 23–25, 2026, at the Hilton Parsippany, NJ. Korero Press has promised a panel discussion featuring both Naglin and Ferry, along with the opportunity to buy the book and have it signed by both. As these things go, best to keep up to date with the convention promoter in advance, just in case schedules and timetables change.

Korero Press has promised an almost worldwide distribution of the book in October of 2026 (via its press release), which will be welcomed by the fanbase of The Monster Times, as it has grown by viral leaps and bounds since the advent of the internet and, quite literally, multiplys by the tenfold since the first The Monster Times megafan scanned in their battered & bruised copy of their favorite issue of the fragile paper mag and shared it with the world.
